Playwright Eve Ensler To Get Honor At John Lennon Tribute

NEW YORK (AP) — Tony Award-winning playwright and activist Eve Ensler will get a new honor next month — the John Lennon Real Love Award.

The grassroots nonprofit Theatre Within said Thursday it will honor the author of "The Vagina Monologues" and "Emotional Creature" on Dec. 4 at Symphony Space for her creative life's work and worldwide social activism.

The award will be part of The 35th Annual John Lennon Tribute-75th Birthday Celebration that will have performances by Joan Osborne, Martin Sexton, Bettye LaVette, Joseph Arthur, Willie Nile, Lucy Kaplansky, Richard Shindell, Nicole Atkins, Jonatha Brooke, Chris Smither, Toshi Reagon and Rich Pagano.

Ticket prices are $75, $95 and $125, with VIP options available.
